The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and TOP 09 (both conservative political parties) called for an extraordinary meeting of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in order to reconsider the date of the implementation of the Electronic Record of Sales (EET). Although they attempted to postpone it to the beginning of 2019, their effort failed as the agenda of the meeting was not approved as the Ministry of Finance believes that a possible postponement of the implementation by two years would result in further expenses for both the state and the businesses concerned. Thus, in accordance with the Records of Sales Act, businesses active in hospitality and hotel industry are to assume the responsibilities stipulated by it starting on 1 December, 2016.
