Tax on immovable property
Immovable property tax returns for 2023 must be filed by Tuesday, January 31, 2023, showing the actual situation as of January 1, 2023. The taxpayer is obliged to file a tax return if there is a change in the extent or nature of his/her immovable property in 2022 (purchase, sale, extension, occupancy permit, building permit issuance, etc.) The tax return can be filed either in full or in the form of a partial tax return.
On the website of the tax administration, you will find detailed instructions on how to proceed with filling in the tax return via the www.mojedane.cz portal, mainly because for technical reasons it is not possible to submit partial tax returns electronically.
Road tax
As we informed you last year, the Road Tax Act was amended in 2022 and together with the amendment, there has been both a remission of advances and a significant reduction in the number of vehicles subject to the road tax (e.g., passenger cars are no longer subject to road tax). However, if the road tax applies to you, you must also file a tax return by Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in arrears for the year 2022. The tax liability incurred must be paid by the same date.
Further information on filing a tax return can be found on the website of the tax administration, including a link to filing electronic tax returns.
We will be happy to assist you in filing both returns if you wish.
